Single Family Triplex Residential Building

Born from the quiet contours of Chittagong’s hills and the cultural spirit of familial togetherness, “চেতকথান” is conceived as an architectural translation of the chittagong’s cultural identity. From the outset, our intention was to craft a home where community, landscape, and daily rituals remain in constant dialogue. The spatial organization centers on a calibrated public–private courtyard that operates as both ceremonial yard and the functional heart of the multi-generational household—expanding for gatherings while grounding everyday movement. A clear gradient of privacy structures the plan, guiding residents from communal zones into increasingly intimate spaces. Along the exterior, multi-layer ground, inspired from পাহাড়ি মাচা helps to generate double-heighted terrace that extend each floor outward, capturing breezes, framing greenery, and offering varied moments of retreat and interaction. By drawing the tree canopy into the architectural envelope and dissolving rigid boundaries between indoor and outdoor, the residence becomes a gentle convergence of landscape, memory, and lived tradition.
